2025 BYD Tang AWD: range and charging guide
BYD’s newer European Tang specification pairs a 108.8 kWh battery with up to 530 km WLTP range. The catalog had retained an older 86.4 kWh specification.

EPA and WLTP use different test procedures. A miles-to-kilometres conversion changes the unit only; it does not convert one test cycle into another. Neither rating is a guaranteed motorway or winter range.
Which version should you compare?
Identify the battery generation when comparing a 2025 registration. The newer specification should not be applied automatically to an older-stock Tang or another market’s version.
Charging this vehicle
BYD specifies 170 kW DC charging and a 30–80% time of 30 minutes for this configuration. The starting charge matters: this is not a 10–80% result.

Start with the exact configuration's certified range and leave an arrival reserve. Where the trim or certification is unresolved, confirm the vehicle documents before using a numerical range estimate. Road speed, weather, load and battery condition can all change the distance between stops.
Battery, price and ownership checks
A battery specification should state whether it is gross or usable capacity. EPA wall-energy consumption includes charging losses, so multiplying it by range does not establish battery size. We do not present an unverified catalog pack estimate as a manufacturer specification.
