How This Formula Works

kW (kilowatts) is the rate at which energy is transferred. kWh (kilowatt-hours) is the total energy transferred. Multiply kW by the number of hours to get kWh. This is the same unit used on your electric bill. A 11.5 kW Level 2 charger running for 7 hours adds 80.5 kWh — enough to fully charge a Tesla Model Y Long Range.
